Cache Details
Description
The 41st cache hidden by caughtatwork is a moveable cache and can only be found on Geocaching Australia. This cache is the first contributing cache in the series A Moving Challenge.
Your challenge is to locate all four moveable caches, each of which will provide you with partial co-ordinates to the 5th cache A Moving Challenge 5: Stationary
The co-ordinates will be on the top of the log sheet. The log sheet is waterproof to ensure its longevity.
Your challenge (should you accept) is to locate this cache, grab it, make your log and rehide it somewhere else in exactly the same manner.
There is only one rule:
- This cache must remain within 50km of the Melbourne General Post Office (GPO).
Co-ordinates are:
S 37 48.830
E 144 57.780
If you are unsure of how far away you are from the GPO, enter these co-ordinates into your GPSr and see just how far away it is.
There are some simple guidelines:
- When you grab the cache please rehide it again the same day or at the latest within 24 hours.
- Rehide the cache attached to another one of these objects.
The further away the merrier.
You will want to try and frustrate your opponents.
- Log your find here as soon as you can so others are not trying to find the cache you just moved.
- When logging your find at geocaching.com.au, please insert the co-ordinates in the coords box.
This allows the geocaching software to automatically update the new location.
Of course the best fun about one of these caches is that you don't have to worry about being spotted retrieving the cache. Feel free to be as obvious as you need to be in order to claim it.
Then run away as fast as you can.
Enjoy.

This series has been an interesting experiment. With the final cache missing, I'll archive this series and reinstate the cache containers, kindly returned to me at great expense, for a different cache. |

A few weeks ago we went after this cache as it was close to our locale. However it was not to be, as it had already gone MIA. Then on Friday we received the email for the new co-ordinates. So as the rain had eased today we went after it. It was quite a busy spot on Sunday morning, but a quick grab was all that was needed. We will now try and locate it somewhere else soon.
Thanks caughtatwork. |

S38° 3.134' E145° 21.446' I tried to place this one a bit closer to the 50km GPO limit and in a slightly different direction than this location, but it was quite tough to find such a specific (and safe) spot out thataway! |

Our 2nd find in this series of moveable caches in as many days! We happened to be in the neighbourhood so we thought we'd drop by and pick this one up. A nice and easy find. We now have two of the caches in hand (#1 and #3) - both will be placed in their new positions tomorrow... Thanks again. Regards, 38degsouth. |

Thought we would grab this one on the way home after grabbing A Moving Challenge 4 Boosted. But must have missed the Solomn Family but a few hours. Thought it was strange we could not find it.
Will try for it again soon.

I can't believe I'm logging a DNF on my own cache.
GabGab (my daughter) and I were out this way to collect a few caches for the River Deep to Mountain High game.
She wanted to find this one so she could eventually find the last cache in this series.
We called Facitman to get the co-ordinates (after all I never carry co-ords for my own caches) and we stopped to see what we could see.
After some 10 minutes of looking we called Facitman back for the hint and it told us what we already knew so we had a few more looks and eventually gave up.
Facitman was quite amused that we couldn't find our own cache so I was rude to him :-)
Well, anyway, get home tonight, was pawing through my collection of boxes to make up a replacement and caught the log coming through from ADACache who had found the cache earlier in the day. What a dog :-) It goes unfound for 5 months then it gets found and tried to be found twice on the same day. Now that's a hoot.
Anyway, it's good to know that the cache is still out there and I'll have to go for a look for it when it gets placed again. |

S37° 51.611' E145° 3.591' Finally got this cache back in a suitable location. Took it with us yesterday on an outing to a location I was sure would have lots of these things, but not a single one was found!
Thanks caught@work, sorry for the slow re-hide |

Found by Facitman and the Facit-Family at 10:12am
Heading up Warburton way for a day caching and this was our first stop.
Had to alter our car parking arrangement on arrival as we found that we had stopped right next to a bee hive but as soon as we were at GZ we knew what we were looking for and soon e-facit had the cache in hand.
Will re-hide tomorrow morning

S37° 45.380' E145° 23.108' Found at 11:55. I had tried to grab this one sometime ago and was beaten by the Pickup Family so I new what sort of object it would be hidden on or did I? I arrived at GZ and could not see the required object anywhere in koo wee of GZ, I was most perplexed and made a few calls to finally make a call to the Pickup family to find out if I was in the correct spot, I was and I even guessed where the cache would be. Turns out the dummies took on a garden fence instead. I have re-hidden the cache in the intended method. Thanks Caught@work and thanks to the pickup Family for the assist. |

S37° 54.937' E145° 19.471' Took a little while to grab as parking near the cache was a little difficult. Once the car was parked a short walk and the cache was quickly in hand.
Cache is now in a new position. Tree cover was a bit difficult when setting the position. Took a few readings and averaged them.
David.

S38° 3.788' E145° 26.250' We have moved this cache to the very edge of the 50km rule from the Melbourne GPO. Some might say that we have taken things just a little too far.
On the edge of Melbourne's Geocaching Mecca we are sure this moveable cache won't be here long.
Two down, two to go.

I was working out west and the phone beeped with a text message that showed a set of coordinates for this cache. I entered the numbers and blow me down just 30 metres away, you little ripper. I walked (a difficult decision not to drive) to the GZ and found a gardener cleaning around the cache. He looked at me strange as I started to search and I replied I was looking for a container as part of a treasure hunt game, to which he said Oh OK and continued to clean. The cache was found after a bit of a search. Many thanks Caughtatwork for the cache and your help with some logging issues.

S37° 40.499' E144° 25.979' This was the last micro find of the day and 2nd placed. On going to this one I almost got traped like the other day but grabed the melway at just the right moment to save myself. This one was the hardest find of the day. I found it after about 10 min of checking around the likly places. There were bulldozers trucks and rollers churning away nearby and I noted a new white peg with a pink ribbon about 3 meters from GZ so maybe it's a timely find. I then set off to place it. This one took a bit of hunting to find a suitable place and the further I went in the direction I was going the less places I found. I was too far from the GPO so I started to circle back. Finaly after much hunting I found a place. It wasn't realy the style of area I was looking for but it is a proper safe hide exactly as I found it. After this it was back to find the big one.
Thanks C@W |
