Description

The 42nd cache hidden by caughtatwork is a moveable cache and can only be found on Geocaching Australia.

This cache is the second contributing cache in the series A Moving Challenge.

Your challenge is to locate all four moveable caches, each of which will provide you with partial co-ordinates to the 5th cache A Moving Challenge 5: Stationary

The co-ordinates will be on the top of the log sheet. The log sheet is waterproof to ensure its longevity.

Your challenge (should you accept) is to locate this cache, grab it, make your log and rehide it somewhere else in exactly the same manner.

There is only one rule:

  1. This cache must remain within 50km of the Melbourne General Post Office (GPO).
    Co-ordinates are:
    S 37 48.830
    E 144 57.780

If you are unsure of how far away you are from the GPO, enter these co-ordinates into your GPSr and see just how far away it is.
There are some simple guidelines:

  1. When you grab the cache please rehide it again the same day or at the latest within 24 hours.
  2. Rehide the cache attached to another one of these objects.
    The further away the merrier.
You will want to try and frustrate your opponents.
  3. Log your find here as soon as you can so others are not trying to find the cache you just moved.
  4. When logging your find at geocaching.com.au, please insert the co-ordinates in the coords box.
This allows the geocaching software to automatically update the new location.
Of course the best fun about one of these caches is that you don't have to worry about being spotted retrieving the cache. Feel free to be as obvious as you need to be in order to claim it.

Then run away as fast as you can.

Enjoy.

Logs

January 2008

28th Noted caughtatwork This series has been an interesting experiment. With the final cache missing, I'll archive this series and reinstate the cache containers, kindly returned to me at great expense, for a different cache.
1st Maintained caughtatwork With the final cache missing, I'm collecting the parts for recalculation and redistribution.
1st Found it Landsergruppe Checked it out, the cache was still there, but seeing as the owner has disabled all the others in this series, I have grabbed it and will see what he wants to do with it.
1st Noted Landsergruppe Will check it asap,

December 2007

28th Did not find it harlips We were very pleased with ourselves as the GPS zeroed in on the kind of "structure" we were expecting to see. Four to chose from but none gave us a result - even checked the two alternatives near by. (Very busy day for muggles and received a few strange looks as I muttered about my lost ring!)
Will keep watching to see who has it and where it will pop up next!
We have time and patience on our side!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
21st Moved Landsergruppe S38° 6.112' E145° 11.112'
Trying again, Thanks to everyone who helped me sort out the problem with logging this one
9th Moved Landsergruppe

November 2007

30th Found it Landsergruppe Now I have all 4 caches I can finally take over the world (cue evil laugh) MMWWAAAHAHA, What? I have to rehide them! But they're so nice and colourful! Okay Okay I will do so very soon, but once I find the final cache I'll be ready for world domination.
27th Moved Partic S37° 52.115' E144° 58.647'
Perhaps some of you might find this location familiar from one of my archived caches.
27th Found it Partic Found this one today as it keeps on breaching the 10km radius I've cleared out. Waiting on the others to get a little closer.

September 2007

August 2007

31st Found it 38 degrees south Third pickup in this series for us in three days! I (mrs38) grabbed this one as it was within walking distance from my work. I had a good idea as to what object this one was attached to, and found it in the first place I looked. There were heaps of people around as it was lunchtime, but who cares - as long as I find it!! These moveable caches are good fun. Thanks again - we'll move it to another place real soon.

2nd Found it Geodes Found by Bob at 0215

Having found my 2nd one in this series the other day, I checked out the remaining 2 and found they were close to each other and not too far away, so I thought I'd better nab them Smile. This was the 1st, and an easy find - I've already placed the other one, so I'll place this one tomorrow when I'm a bit further away - might as well separate them a bit Wink.

Thanks c@w

18th Found it Rhinogeo

3rd Moved Facitman S37° 53.424' E145° 3.730'

1st Found it Facitman Found by Facitman and the Facit-Family at 14:40
Continuing our collection of these "A Moving Challenge" caches. Found this one happily sitting exactly where it had been left. Will hide again soon ('ish... We haven't been very reliable in meeting the 24hr turnaround Red Face)

Thanks caught@work, now for the fourth....hmmm... weren't we close to it the other day...sigh!

May 2006

14th Found it pprass S37° 48.305' E144° 59.049'
We are not normally concerned with GA caches, however when one appears within 500 metres from home, then we may as well pick it up. Moved it on close to where nprass lives!
14th Did not find it Next! Bah! There is the quick and the dead... Even though the coordinates pointed to the middle of the road, it wasn't hard to guess the hidding spot (although 3 bigg'uns to choose from). Its not there - but the nosey shop keeper is close by. Wonder who found it and where it will pop up next...
14th Noted Next! ditto.
14th Noted Next! Message changed. Sorry for multiple messages... they didn't seem to be appearing on the site. But I see that there must be some lag before they appear.
3rd Found it Tank47 S37° 52.053' E145° 13.500'
Found this one without any difficulty, a bit of a drive to come across another hidding place. It is now hidden in a place to practice your grab and run skills.

March 2006

6th Found it dajjct S37° 47.173' E145° 15.124'
Was able to grab this cache and 2 of it's other challenges. Had a good idea what I was looking for and had it in hand in seconds. I have had my eye on the new location for quite some time and this has given me the chance to use it.

January 2006

15th Found it Team_Diesel S38° 2.733' E145° 22.737'
We grabbed this cache from Mt Evelyn and, after doing a nearby GC.com cache, we brought this one closer to home.

We have used this location once before for the GCA 'Return to sender' cache and thought it was worthy of a second cache.

As with anywhere else in this area, there are lots of GC.com caches nearby.

Thanks Caught@work
6th Noted Geof S37° 46.937' E145° 23.581'
Was coming back from placing a cache and thought the GPO could come a little closer even though that is still suberbia.

December 2005

21st Found it acts2youthgroup S37° 46.814' E145° 34.117'
new location, this is a bit easier to get to or is it?
16th Found it Geof S37° 47.421' E145° 21.857'
This was the first and last cache of the day. It was an easy find and my GPSr pointed straight to it. I wasn't 100% sure what this one represented - now I know. There were waypoints all over the screen here but today I was on a mission. After a trip of over 420km the cache is back in place at another location. I went through about 5 other suberbs looking for one in the area I wanted to place it but had to resort to one I knew previously.

My first C@W cache find ever on my 100% C@W caching big day out. Thanks C@W
1st Found it Mr.Coffee and the Coffee Clan S37° 59.902' E145° 19.158'
S37.59.902 x E145.19.158
I happened to be near this cache today for work, and when the GPS showed 30 metres how could I resist.
It has now moved South East for a change of scenery.
Thanks Caughtatwork for another moving chellenge.
Regards Mr.Coffee and the "through hot sunny weather today" Clan.

November 2005

29th Did not find it Team_Diesel Called by the original location on my way home from the airport but, like the other three in the series, this one had moved on with the Maccamob.

We will have another go in a few weeks when next out west.

Thanks C@W
29th Found it maccamob S37° 52.138' E144° 42.195'
Found by Mary & David at 0925. Think we're getting the hang of this. Another fairly busy spot, but we didn't have to wait around. so we just grabbed it. Moved westwards (surprise surprise). Our thanks to caughtatwork again.
