Description
Cache unfound for 365 days or more.
You can claim a single cache find on only one of the "unloved" locationlesses. I suggest the highest one, but it's up to you. Ie. You can find the locationlesses several times each, for several unloved caches, but only one locationless can be found for any one cache find.
6 Months Unfound - geocaching.com.au/cache/ga2689
2 Years Unfound - geocaching.com.au/cache/ga2698
I realised lately that one of my more remote caches hadn't seen a find in over 3 years! It's not that far out... geocaching.com.au/cache/gcqpgj - Boring Cactus.
To complete this locationless, you can find any physical cache which has not had an internet logged find for 12 months/1 Calendar Year. Dual listed caches which have been found on GC but not GCA do not count.
You cannot find your own cache. You cannot find a cache you've found before. If you find this cache with a mate, only one of you can claim the find. Argue it amongst yourselves.
You need to include:
- The GC/GA code and name of the cache you are logging.
- The actual date of the find - must be after the date this locationless is listed (1 Nov 2010)
- The date of the last find (or note it as an FTF)
- Why you think this one has gone so long.
- Coordinates as listed on cache page.
It would be nice if you included:
- A photograph of the cache and or location
- A little story about the hunt.
You can claim this more than once - after all, the intent is to make these unloved caches loved again!
I will be monitoring these closely - no dodgy claims!
Logs
The cache is over 10 years old and is a puzzle cache (listed - NOT solved - co-ords given above), plus we've had covid so I can understand why it's been left alone recently. TFTLC
Listed coords were accurate:
S 33° 24.599' E 151° 23.034'
A well camo'd container in the bush.
The cache is in a lesser known track near a very popular bush walking spot, so maybe everyone stays on the other trails.
After we found the cache Dad realised he had left his phone back at GZ so we had to backtrack all the way from the cachemobile.
I was heading home from a caching run through the central highlands in Tasmania and this was my last find for the day.
GA9672 C u on the highway Found 12/01/2021 Previous find 22/09/2019. I can't see any reason why it has not been regularly found.

Unloved 21-Apr-19 - 24-Sep-20 = 522 days (1 year, 5 months, 3 days)

Last found 8 july 2018
Again probably not found because it is out of the way in an unknown area for non locals.
Thanks for the locationless Cached.
I found this traditional cache, which had last been found on 3 June 2018, on 5 Feb 2020 ... a gap of 612 unloved days. I see that the CO retired the cache from service after I reported that it was in poor condition.
I have 3 trig point finds that have even more unloved days than this, but I note that ONLY PHYSICAL CACHES count for this challenge.
Thanks for publishing this locationless Cached.
Thanks for the Locationless Cache:-)
I found 30-May-20 and last find 10-May-17
Locationless
A very creative painted and decorated tree. TFTC
I think this cache has been unloved as it's not in a big city, has a puzzle that is easier than it looks, and has a cache-grab that is not for everyone. TFTVC!

I have no idea why a quality cache like this has gone unfound so long right on a power trail but we were glad to fix that.
S37° 48.148' E144° 16.930'
I found it quite easily, in the dark, using a head torch. The hint made it a straight forward find. I guess no one has been bothered looking for it.
Found at 23:45 at the posted Coordinates: S37° 56.978' E145° 3.318'
405 days from the start date to the end date, end date included.
Or 1 year, 1 month, 10 days including the end date.
Or 13 month, 10 days including the end date.
I am currently on a mission to qualify for the CybergranV Locationless Challenge - GA12589 - Jaunty July
Last night's find and this one will help me get there.
Perhaps I'm a 'fair weather' cacher. It has been hailing today so I think I will stay indoors.
Thanks for the challenge Cached. Much appreciated.
Type: Traditional
Date of Find: 10/06/2019
Date of Last Find: 27/12/2016
Gap: 895 days
Why It Had Gone Unfound: To be honest i have no idea why this has not been found in so long, when i found this it was buried beneath the years worth of leaves and bark.
Type: Moveable
Date of Find: 25/08/2018
Date of Last Find: 10/07/2017
Gap: 411 days
Why It Had Gone Unfound: This Moveable gnome had been placed but not found for a significant time. The GCA Bot came around and archived it before I stumbled across it in its last location, prompting a revival.
Coordinates: S38° 21.882' E144° 52.730'
Thanks for placing this locationless!

The reason that it has remained unfounded for that time is that, to log it, you have to have found a different type of cache to those already on the list.
Naturally all the common types have been logged already.
I was lucky to have found several Ephemeral caches recently.
Unfortunately you can only claim it once, as I had also found a Gadget cache but couldn’t claim it too.
Thanks for the Locationless Cached
371 days unloved ( 1 year 6 days).
GA9171 Sandy Beach.
The cache is a GCA and unfortunately many people ignore GCA caches, and the second reason is that it is on the Nullarbor.

Previous find December 27, 2016
We found it on January 10, 2018
12 months and 2 weeks unfound
It can be a busy area so not always easy to look.
The GA Code is GA3424
I logged it on 11th April 2018, and the previous log was on the 9th January 2017.
I believe the reason for it being so long unfound is that the Not So Famous are obviously overlooked.
Thanks for the Locationless Cached.
Found this one unloved totally by accident

This is about a 2.5 hour epic which has been missed by all the out of area cachers generally. Saying that there has been some who have taken on the challenge. It is rough to negotiate downhill and thick scrub to the creek if you go the intended way. Then there is the challenge of the cliff walk out to the cache.

Managed to claim 526 unloved days on this cache which proofed harder to located as the GPS was pushing us downhill. In the end the cache was found in a more elevated position.
TP6730. Gearys Gap trig Lake George, New South Wales, Australia.
I found this on 23-Feb-17. It was found previously by MrDamage on 10-Apr-16.

GA7658. Snowy Mountains Hydro-Electricity Scheme - National Engineering Landmark #6 Talbingo, New South Wales, Australia.
I found this on 01-Feb-17. I was FTF; the cache being published on 19-Oct-15. Amazing this hadn't been logged before, because it was a drive by.

I think that this has been unloved because it is in the outer suburbs and some people don't like multicaches.
The initial waypoint is at the clubrooms of the football/cricket club so I chose to visit on a weekday. There were ladies playing tennis nearby but the final location was hidden from their view. I was surprised at how easy it was to actually find the container after no visitors for more than 15 months.
Cache is an extremely difficult puzzle and I am apparently still the only solver as it hasn't been found by anyone else as of today.
The Sword of Kahless - GC14GJQ
I found it today, 2/11/16 - last found 16/10/15
The cache is not at the above posted co-ordinates - it is a puzzle cache.
It was a wonderful find on a peaceful hill right on the outskirts of Canberra.
Although it was a steep climb to GZ, I was back in the car within the hour, with another trad logged on the way. This is not in the league of some of the unloved caches I have heard of.
I reckon its been neglected because its suffering the double whammy of being a puzzle AND a hill climb. ...And, perhaps the last log, which states that they didn't like it . I, for one, thought it was terrific. A fun puzzle and a good after work hill climbing challenge with beautiful views.
The unloved cache, which had been published on 8 August 2007, is GA0905 WanAus08 - Woolwagon Breakaway by WanderingAus.
The cache was in remarkable condition. Although the plastic was brittle and broken the contents were dry and clean as was the huntsman spider who was living in it.
We signed the log and put everything in a new container, it is now waiting for the next visitor who, one would hope, will be along soon.
Back in Black GC45FYT
Last found by The Hancock Clan on 15 June 2015, it's been more than 14 months since this one was logged (today) by rogerw3 and me.
A tough final 240 metres or so, leading to a terrain rating of 4, has probably discouraged visitors to this amazing and beautiful ravine.

Why did it take so long? The first WP was at the Captain Cook plaque which you can find when it is low tide. And the last waypoint is on the other side of the bay. So it's not a quick one.
Found by me 21-9-15

I can't say why this one had gone unfound for so long. A little bit off the beaten track for the average Grampians tourist cacher perhaps?
I logged this back on the 4-4-2015. It was logged last on the 8-8-2013.
Maybe people give up looking for this one when they find themselves on the wrong side of the river.
